In a statement during Ubisoft’s Financial Call yesterday, Ubisoft CFO CFO Alain Martinez stated that this year’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed installment will feature a live services model, which was implemented in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Rainbow Six Siege, but somehow in a different way:

So what we can say is clearly all our games now are bringing live operations, different type. As you said, the live operation of Ghost Recon, are different from the one of Rainbow Six and will be different from the one of Assassin’s Creed. But clearly, the philosophy of all the game that we make is to be able to justify and to bring live operations for a long life, as long as we think it fits for the game.

When asked about whether Assassin’s Creed is going to return to being an annual franchise after the upcoming title, CEO Yves Guillemot stated that he won’t be commenting on that, at the moment, but a new game will be shown soon.

Stay tuned for more!
