Next Assassin’s Creed is reportedly called “Ragnarok”

Few weeks ago, it was reported that the next Assassin’s Creed would be set in the Viking Era, known by the working title “Kingdom”. Today, new reports from ResetEra and 4Chan claim that the next Assassin’s Creed will indeed focus on the Vikings and will be titled “Ragnarok”, set for release in 2020 as a cross-gen title. Here’s a summary of all the reported information about the game:

1. The game will bring back RPG elements and naval mechanics.
2. Ship-related content won’t be as extensive, since the focus will instead shift to exploration.
3. Co-op features will be implemented into the game which will appear in both side quests and exploration of the open-world.
4. The unnamed protagonist is closely allied with the famed Ragnar Lothbrok., and also assists in establishing the Great Heathen Army, a league of Norse warriors who were instrumental in the invasion of English kingdoms in 865 AD.
5. The protagonist will venture into kingdoms set in the regions of Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Norway, and Sweden.
6. First Civilization reportedly not receiving as much attention, compared to the lore featured in Odyssey.
7. Thor’s Hammer, Mjolnir will appear as an artifact to discover.
8. The various kingdoms will be split into settlements, each of which comes with its own ecosystems and customization options.
9. The hidden blade returns as does the order of Assassins as we know it.
10. Ubisoft Montreal is leading development on Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. Ashraf Ismail, Creative Director and Game Director on Black Flag and Origins, respectively, serves as Ragnarok’s Creative Director.
11. DLC plans are already underway, as a setting in Iceland has reportedly been selected for post-launch content.
12. Ragnarok will feature multiple realms, and it’s unclear if this is part of the game or the DLC.
13. Traversal between realms will be made possible by Yggdrasil, the mythical Tree of Life that is featured in the likes of God of War and other similar focused mediums.
