Ubisoft Survey: Future Assassin’s Creed Settings and RPG Elements

Home / News / Ubisoft Survey: Future Assassin’s Creed Settings and RPG Elements

Ubisoft set a survey to select users, asking about potential settings for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed games, as well as various game mechanics and features that have never been part of the franchise. Here’s the full list of settings:

  1. The Peloponnesia War between Athens and Sparta in Classical Greece.
  2. Joan of Arc’s battles and rise of the Black Death during the Hundred Years War.
  3. The Invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.
  4. Willam the Conqueror and the invasion of England.
  5. The Spanish Inquisition (setting of the Assassin’s Creed Movie).
  6. The Conquests of Alexander the Great.
  7. The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution.
  8. Genghis Khan and the Mongol Invasions.
  9. The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan.
  10. Viking invasions and their great army.
  11. The Rise of the Roman Empire in the Mediterranean basin.
  12. Hannibal’s invasion of Rome.
  13. The Dark Ages and the historical King Arthur.
  14. The violent conflicts of the imperial Dynasties in Medieval China.

As for the RPG elements suggested for future games in the survey:

  1. Craft a large variety of weapons with resources you find in the world.
  2. Craft your own tools, special boosters, potions and spells.
  3. Ability to choose among a large variety of abilities/skills to build your own fighting style.
  4. Ability to fully create your character (gender, face, body shape..etc.).
  5. See that your actions and choices have an impact on the world and story.
  6. Upgrade the stats of your weapons/armor with resources you find in the world.
  7. Customize your outfit and weapons with new colors, engravings..etc.
  8. Build your armor set by choosing pieces of armor you want to use (helmet, chest..etc.).
  9. Recruit and customize your allies, army or naval crew.
  10. Upgrade and customize your mount/chariot/battleship.
  11. Ability to choose between different lines of dialogue which will influence the outcome of the conversation and story.
  12. Upgrade and customize secondary characters, NPCs, animal companions..etc.

Interestingly, the list seems to mention spells and potions, something that is totally alien and unfit within the universe of the franchise, not to mention a story that changes according to your action and dialogue choices which goes against every aspect of the Animus and Synchronization process. There’s also the suggestion of a character creation tool which is another element that never was part of the story campaign of Assassin’s Creed franchise. Of course, all these elements are suggestions and the decisions to implement them is likely based on the votes the survey will receive, as well as many more complex processes, perhaps for a multiplayer mode in a future game or an MMORPG AC title. So far, this is all the information The Codex has. Stay tuned for more updates.
