Assassin’s Creed Origins – Enigmatic Stone Circles and Bayek’s Family

According to a new demo of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Bayek has a son who’s either dead or alive, and he made a promise of some kind to him, long ago which he still contemplates. The side quest description (pictured below) states:

Bayek discovers one of Egypt’s enigmatic Stone Circles, and relives memories of a promise he made to his son. He sets out to visit all 12 of the circles dedicated to ancient gods and their constellations. His personal pilgrimage unexpectedly opens th way to a long hidden secret in the heart of Egypt.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will also feature Enigmatic Stone Circles where Bayek will be able to relive past memories. Could it be that the stone circles are First Civilization creations that resemble the Animus in purpose? After all, the player is instructed to “interact” with the stones, so apparently they’re a device of some sort. Of course, this isn’t the first time we come across such First Civilization artifacts as the Masyaf Keys play a very similar role.

The side quest feels a bit similar to the Nostradamus Enigmas in Assassin’s Creed: Unity, yet this one seems to open a First Civilization sites as it mentions ancient gods, who are in fact Isu members and also it mentions a “long hidden secrets” which is likely a First Civilization vault.
