A Rainbow Six Siege player “FlowerRenaissance” shared a screenshot from his own play session which show a Samurai outfit with an Assassin symbol on the belt. The user suggests that this Easter Egg could be a hint to the setting of the next Assassin’s Creed game, which is currently rumored to be Empire, a game set in ancient Egypt starring a protagonist who used to be a slave.
While the rumors about Assassin’s Creed: Empire remain unconfirmed officially, the initial rumor stated that the Assassin’s Creed game meant for 2016 was cancelled and it was meant to be in Japan, and that the next game will come out in 2017 and is set in Ancient Egypt, and called Empire.
So since Rainbow Six Siege has been out for a while and likely in development for around 2-3 years, this Easter Egg might have been a hint to the game set in Japan which was eventually cancelled, or perhaps just a nod by Ubisoft to one of its franchises such as how For Honor features the Assassin Insignia as well as Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs’ logos.
Here’s a screenshot which the user shared:
