Rumors have emerged claiming that there won’t be a new main installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise in 2016, and instead, the next game will be released in 2017 and will be set in Ancient Egypt. The project is set to be codenamed “Assassin’s Creed: Empire”.

1. The game is set in Ancient Egypt.
2. The protagonist is a dark-skinned escaped slave.
3. There will be blue skies, lush vegetations in certain sequences and massive deserts and mirage in others.
4. The game contains Naval missions which was thought to allow you to travel to Greece, but Greece was cutout due to the large scale.
5. The game is thought to be part of a trilogy where the same protagonist will venture from Egypt to Greece and Rome, each in a game of its own.
6. The game will be a complete revamp of the series and will follow a style similar to The Witcher games.
7. www.assassinscreedcollection.com domain was registered by Ubisoft few weeks ago, suggesting a full remaster of the past gen. installments of Assassin’s Creed franchise for current gen. consoles, to fill the gap in 2016, since no major installment is happening this year.
