Back in March 19th, The Codex revealed pre-order listings of numerous video game stores for “Assassin’s Creed: Empire”, which led many to speculate that the rumors about the game to be true and that an announcement is coming soon. Later, the listings were removed from the website World of Games.
However, today the listings have been restored simply titling the game as “Assassin’s Creed (2017)”, dropping the subtitle “Empire”. It must be noted that early rumors about the “Empire” project regarded the title as a working title, rather than the official subtitle of the upcoming game. The move is interesting, especially when it’s merely weeks away from E3. You can check the new listing, here.
It must be noted that on April 26th, known “Industry Insider” who goes by the name ‘shinobi602‘ tweeted that he’s excited for the next Assassin’s Creed game and also tweeted “Not long now”, referring to the announcement of the next game, and how he likes the idea of the game being a soft reboot rather than a full one (pictured above).
As of today, there hasn’t been any official news regarding the next Assassin’s Creed game.
